Consultation launched

A new skills consultation was launched on the 31st March 2010 by the Department of Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS) and the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC).

The consultation aims to ensure that UK businesses are equipped to take advantage of low carbon opportunities. It forms part of a wider Government announcement on climate change with Kevin Brennan, the Further Education and Skills Minister, announcing the co-funding of up to 2,500 apprenticeships in the wind energy sector.

The consultation sets out what is known about the scale and nature of the low-carbon skills challenge, what has already been done to tackle it and to seek views on what more needs to happen. It also states the Government’s key skills priorities, and the challenges which must be met if we are successfully to: -
