Presentations and other documents have been made available from the successful conference organised by The Adult Education Unit of the European Commission (DG Education and Culture)to mark the start of the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion and the launch of the 10th anniversary celebrations of the Grundtvig programme.

The conference which took place on 26-28 January in Brussels brought together 330 experts in the field of adult learning, European, national, regional and local policy-makers, representatives of successful Grundtvig projects as well as individuals and organisations interested in the field. The event offered thematic key speeches, project cases and reflections about the future of adult learning in Europe.

The documents available include the conference programme, general conference documentation and presentations made during the plenary sessions and thematic workshops including the ECA’s presentation on the Teddy Bear project.

The intergenerational project, of which the ECA was Project Co-ordinator, has previously been praised by the European Commission in the Grundtvig ‘Success Stories’ publication and is cited as an example of best practice in 2 Ecotec handbooks, ‘Sharing Success’ and ‘Learning Together’. The project also featured in the December 2009 edition of the publication LLinE (Lifelong Learning in Europe).
