This years Big Draw event is being held from 1st-31st October

The Big Draw is an annual event run by the Campaign for Drawing. The Campaign for drawing has one aim: to get everybody drawing! As an educational charity, the Campaign demonstrates that drawing is a life skill: an essential tool for thinking, inventing and communicating.

The Big Draw proves that drawing can be an enjoyable public activity as well as a private passion. It is inspired by the visionary Victorian artist and writer, John Ruskin. His mission was not to teach people how to draw, but how to see. To help achieve this, over 1000 UK venues, from scout huts to national museums, will take part in the ninth Big Draw, showing that drawing is the perfect medium for observation, self-expression and fun.

The themes for this years event are: Drawing on Life- From anatomical studies to designing for sustainable futures, Drawing on Energy- From sport to designing sustainable futures, and Changing Places- Community, architectural and environmental projects.

As you can see, these themes fit in nicely with the ECA's eco-agenda. So watch this space to see if the ECA will be holding its very own Big Draw event....
