The ECA was pleased to attend the People Power 2013 conference hosted by the Sheila McKechnie Foundation, fellow members of Democracy Matters, on 24th April. The conference is an annual encouragement and support for organisations and individuals who engage in campaigning and the Sheila McKechnie Foundation is dedicated to helping campaigners to achieve lasting, social, economic and environmental change.
ECA Director and Vice Chair Chris Minter commented that, “the conference was inspirational all the way from the opening keynote speech through to the final quite emotional session with Margaret Aspinall of the Hillsborough Family Support Group. It has reminded me of the importance of our overall objective to campaign for a greater voice of adult learners in their learning.”
