This week is Adult Learners’ Week (12 – 18th May), the largest UK annual festival of learning. Created to celebrate all kinds of learners as well as promoting the benefits of every type of learning, it consists of thousands of events and award ceremonies.

ECA Chair & CEO, Bernard Godding, will be attending the East of England Regional Awards Ceremony in Cambridgeshire on the 17th May to celebrate and reward the achievements of outstanding adult learners from the area. Bernard, who was a member of the NIACE board when Adult Learners Week began, said he is “delighted with its enduring nature. It has become a global force in representing the importance of adult learners and adult learning”.

During this week the ECA will be showcasing its ‘Going Green for Gold’ project on May 16th as part of National Inspire Day. The Norfolk Gardens and Green Spaces Festival, which has been organised by the Association and provides over 200 informal learning activities, also starts this week on the 18th.
