CUE East Awards

Public Engagement Beacon event

ECA Chair Bernard Godding has continued his week of focus on ‘Localism’ in the vicinity of the ECA’s Head Office by attending a reception at City Hall Norwich. The event was organised by CUE East, one of six higher education national Beacons for Public Engagement based at the University of East Anglia (UEA). Bernard has been involved with an RSA/ CUE East education seminar series since last autumn and this event was an opportunity to see the wider range of work inspired and funded by that initiative.

After a welcome by Norwich City Council’s CEO Laura McGillivray the Vice-Chancellor, Edward Acton, introduced a publication that reviews the work of the project and also announced winners of a number of related awards.

Highlight of the evening was the chance to attend mini-presentations of projects which in so many cases intersected with work carried our by the ECA in recent years. There were fruitful exchanges of interest, several of which are likely to help the ECA in meeting its own Localism agenda in the coming months. For a summary of the projects please click here.
