The ECA steps up to the Big Green Challenge
The ECA attended the launch of the Big Green Challenge campaign at the UEA on Friday, 30th November.
The Big Green Challenge is a unique and exciting competition with a £1 million prize fund from NESTA. NESTA believes that encouraging people to work together will help find new ways - better ways - to tackle BIG problems, like reducing CO2 emissions. We are all affected by climate change and we are all part of communities - regardless of age, gender, ability, race or location. This is why NESTA want as wide a range of people as possible taking part and following the competition which is open to any organisation or group of people
The ECA was invited to the project launch, and set up an Every Actions Counts stall where Susie White signed up another community group to the initiative, and she and Karen Read took the opportunity to network with local councillors and other environmental organisations.
Applications for the first stages of funding from the Big Green Challenge close on 29 February 2008. For further information about this, and about the project click here
